We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer Java (m/f/d) to join our team.
At IntegrityNext, we are committed to making supply chains more sustainable and socially responsible. Our backend services are built with Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and PostgreSQL, running in Docker containers on AWS (ECS, RDS, CloudWatch).
We operate under the principle “you build it, you run it”, owning services end to end: from design and implementation to production operation.
We manage our code in GitHub and use GitHub Actions for CI/CD.

What can you expect?
- Design, build, and evolve backend services: Own backend components of a distributed system: develop new microservices, extend existing ones, and continuously improve reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Translate problem statements into robust solutions: Work with product and domain experts to clarify requirements, define technical approaches, and deliver solutions that address real customer and business needs
- Shape and improve system architecture: Contribute to architectural decisions across services, databases, and deployment pipelines, balancing long-term sustainability with short-term delivery needs
- Own services in production: Take responsibility for operating your services in production, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement
- Explore and apply modern development practices: Actively experiment with and help shape spec-driven development and AI-assisted / agentic workflows, critically evaluating their impact on code quality, delivery speed, and team effectiveness
What should you bring along?
- Strong backend engineering experience: Several years of professional experience building and operating backend systems in production environments
- Solid Java ecosystem expertise: Hands-on experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and containerized applications. Experience with Python (FastAPI, Pydantic) is a plus
- Clean, maintainable engineering practices: You write readable, well-tested, and maintainable code and can explain why you made certain design decisions
- Relational database proficiency: Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including schema design and performance consideration
- Microservices and distributed systems experience: Practical experience designing, building, and operating microservices, with an understanding of trade-offs in distributed architectures
- Cloud-native mindset: Experience with AWS is preferred (ECS, RDS, Lambda), and you are comfortable operating services in cloud environments
- Adaptability in ambiguous environments: A proven track record of adopting new tools and paradigms. You are comfortable working in areas of uncertainty and helping define best practices as technologies (including agentic AI) evolve
- Collaborative and pragmatic communication: You communicate clearly, challenge assumptions constructively, and value fast feedback over perfection
- Fluent English: You can work effectively in an English-speaking environment
